Ensure Easy Starting with a Pre-Startup Marine Generator Checklist

Prevent overheating:

• Raw water strainer: Regularly inspect and clean this filter to prevent clogged water flow that can overheat the engine.
• Seacock: Ensure it's open to allow cooling water to circulate.
• Coolant level: Check the coolant reservoir and top it up if necessary. Refer to your manual for proper coolant type and refilling procedures.

Maintain optimal performance:

• Oil level and condition: Check the oil level before each use and change it if it appears dirty. Consult your manual for recommended oil type.
• Fuel/water separator: This filter removes impurities from the fuel. Check it regularly and replace it if dirty. Use high-quality fuel as recommended by your generator's manufacturer.
