Maintenance
It´s extremely important for the long-term performance of your Indmar Marine Engine that you have your engine serviced according to its regular maintenance intervals. Check your maintenance manual for specific maintenance requirements and recommendations. Maximize the lifespan and efficiency of your Indmar Marine Engine with the help of regular maintenance. Consult your maintenance manual for specific maintenance intervals and recommendations, ensuring optimal performance for years to come.
Approved Fuels
RECOMMEND FUELS
FOR USE INDMAR MARINE ENGINES
If the recommended fuel is not accessible, your engine may function on regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum pump (R+M)/2 octane level of 87. This could lead to a decrease in performance, driving ability, and fuel efficiency. It is generally recommended to avoid heavy usage with a lower octane level than what is recommended for your engine.
Impurities, impure, or aged gasoline can lead to issues like reduced drivability, difficult starting, uneven operation, or generally subpar performance. If you encounter these problems, consider using fresh fuel from a different gas station first.
Indmar does not endorse or recommend using additives sold as "Octane Booster", "Octane Enhancer", or any other product claiming to improve or restore the octane or quality of gasoline. These additives may contain chemicals that can modify engine emissions or harm emissions components. Refer to your operator's manual for further information.
Biobutanol-Blended Gasoline
Engines covered by this manual have been approved by Indmar for operation on gasoline blended with 16% Biobutanol, or Bu16. Use of Biobutanol will not void the warranty of Indmar gasoline engines.
Indmar and the National Marine Manufacturers Association encourage the use of Biobutanol in marine engines.
Biobutanol (either isobutanol or n-butanol) is created from biomass and is blended with gasoline to help meet renewable fuel mandates and clean air standards. Bu16 contains a higher percentage (16%) of renewable fuels than traditional E10 gasoline (10%), without sacrificing engine performance or reliability.
Bu16 can be mixed with any E10 or other approved fuel already in the boat’s fuel tank(s).
Biobutanol is chemically different from ethanol and does not have ethanol’s negative characteristics when blended in fuel. The Bu16 fuel blend does not absorb water like E10; the phase separation common in E10 fuel does not occur in Bu16. Isobutanol is not a corrosive agent (ethanol is highly corrosive) and will not damage fuel system parts. These characteristics, combined with a significantly higher energy content, make Bu16 fuel ideal for marine engines.
FUELS NOT APPROVED:
FOR USE IN RAPTOR SERIES ENGINES BY INDMAR.
Use will cause engine and emission control device damage and will void the warranty.
